How have you coped during this Pandemic? I dont know about you, but my emotions have been all over the place. My first reaction was disbelief, even questioning the world's reaction, or as I thought at the time, it's overreaction. After that I moved into the fear stage and just like 9/11, or when my home state (Florida) is on hurricane watch, I was glued to the TV, hearing every account of the death toll, state closures and lack of necessary supplies. Then fear turned to sadness, then boredom and finally resolve, I mean what can I do, right? About three weeks in, I decided to try and focus on the positive and use this time to kind of improve some areas in my life.
A big area for me was my health and well being. I turned 50 in January of this year and made the decision that I was going to lose weight and keep it off for good. Since I wasnt having lunch with fellow realtors, going to Broker opens and lunch and learns, I decided that it would be a good time to focus on making some healthier choices. I also increased walking and added some strength training. Ive had positive results so far and hopefully the good habits I've developed will stick!
Another area of focus has been education, both in real estate and personal growith. Did you know St. Leos University is offering free online Life Enrichment classes? I signed up for Backyard Bird Watching and Boost Your Immunity, How to Stay Healthy n Fit in Isolation. Its been fun logging in everyday to learn something new!
And finally, I decided to focus on my writing. Writing has been a passion for years and Ive always wanted to start a Blog. So here I am! I started a Real Estate Blog (here on my webite) and a Lifestyle Blog (winedownwitht.com) and will use ideas in one Blog to boost the other. I also managed to add three more chapters to a book that Ive been writing for awhile!
Yes, even during this positive transition, the ugly feelings would sometimes creep up. I miss my friends, I miss shopping and oh my how I miss the beach! We are all human, right? And while I hope we never have to go through anything like this again, I am truly grateful for this time of introspection and self care.
So enjoy that book, take that class, learn Yoga poses, or whatever makes YOU your BEST YOU!
Until next time...
